Experience @ PICMET '11

It was a remarkable experience to have been a part of PICMET’11 in Portland, Oregon. PICMET (Portland International Conference on Management of Engineering and Technology) is an annual conference organized by the Department of Engineering and Management technology of Portland State University. This year’s conference dealt with "Technology Management in the Energy-Smart World". As a member of the Solar energy interest group in Technology Strategy Lab of SJMSOM, I worked with my teammates (Raj Mohan, Sumit Sharma and Udayarajan V under the guidance of Prof. Kiran Kumar Momaya, Prof. Karuna Jain and Mukundan) on a framework model to determine how the solar PV firms in India can improve their technological strength and expand along the industry value chain. Our work was selected for publication and presentation in PICMET’11. The presentation was enthusiastically received and well-lauded. Besides, it was a wonderful experience to interact with a host of Industry experts, professors and students from various parts of the world. These interactive sessions enriched my knowledge base. The pleasure I derived out of representing our country as well as our college in this International forum is inexplicable. Altogether it was a great-learning experience. Thanks to SOM for making this possible!!!!.......
