The interactive session with Mr. Anurag Kashyap, the award winning film director, was a delight to all movie buffs of IIT Bombay. Organized by the IIT Bombay Film Club, the session was full of diverse questions, which Mr. Kashyap answered with great energy and enthusiasm. He talked about his early life in Benaras, his inclination towards film making, and the early days of struggle in Mumbai. He also critiqued on commercial movies which spend hugely on the cast but have weak storyline, the issue of piracy and the need to encourage new talent. He also mentioned that he would always prefer to make movies with lower budget, but much closer to reality. In addition, he gave tips on film making to the budding filmmakers of IIT. The video clippings from two of his forthcoming movies “That girl in yellow boots” and “Chand”, a movie based on child psychology were an intellectual treat on filmmaking to the audience.
