Entrepreneurship, in its essence of following a passion, playing to innate strengths and making a difference to people around by building an enterprise, has become a way of life. In an attempt to foster this way of life, the Entrepreneurship Summit (E-Summit) brought together young and enthusiastic graduates, emerging entrepreneurs, start-ups and investors to provide them with a networking hub. With the onset of E-Summit, the entire campus of IIT Bombay was abuzz with the entrepreneurship fever. SJMSOM's E-Club augmented and complemented the efforts of IIT Bombay's E-Cell in successfully organizing the summit this year. E-Summit 2012 was spread over two days which started on 28th January.
The first day was designed to present business learning in an informal, fun and interactive way through on-the-spot competitions, workshops and inspiring talks by people who have been there, done that. It began with a Keynote Session by R. Sriram- Founder, Crossword & Next Practice Retail followed by a Trading Strategy Workshop by Biswaroop Chakraborty, Vice President, Deutsche Bank. A unique panel discussion on the topic ‘Starting up in College’ was highly admired by the young graduates who dream of entrepreneurship. In addition to inspirational sessions by international speakers and esteemed panelists panel discussions, the day saw many innovative competitions like Ideastorm, Nokia ADventures, Business Simulation Games, Biz-Quiz, Incept finals and workshops which gave participants scope for creativity and tested their business acumen. The day proved to be a milestone for many enthusiasts who took their first step in the direction of entrepreneurship.
The second day was planned for the highly motivated individuals who wish to interact with successful entrepreneurs, businesspeople and investors from various industry verticals. The audience was enthralled when eminent entrepreneurs like VSS Mani, Haresh Chawla, Jim Beach, Christian De Neef, Rehan Yar Khan shared their experiences. Panel Discussions and International Workshops continued to persuade and motivate the young minds. The day also witnessed the much awaited finals of Eureka - Asia’s largest Business Plan Competition and Pitch It!. A unique event. ‘Networking Arena’ facilitated a platform for like-minded people, comprising start-ups, technology enthusiasts and students, to gather at a place and have productive discussions in specific sectors of interest.

E-Summit, in its constant endeavor to encourage students to follow their passion through entrepreneurship, offered two action packed days of pure ecstasy. Through a gamut of events, E-Summit echoed the experience, recipe of success and the course of entire journey of those who followed their hearts to turn around nothing to everything. With the aim of providing budding minds of the country a passion to follow their dream, E-Summit is bound to inspire many to start their journey on ‘the road not taken'.
